About Me

What can't I do?

It's a good question. I've worked as a documentary researcher, audio producer, front-end web developer and research analyst. I've rounded out this experience with a degree in journalism from Texas State, awesome training from ProPublica and the Ida B. Wells Society, and a demonstrated devotion to diversity in journalism and media. I'm also a photographer, an avid podcast listener and a sad Mets fan. I was born in Colombia, grew up in New York City, lived in Texas and now call Minneapolis home.

This adds up to one hell of a well-rounded media professional.

Data Analysis

Always evolving

Writing and Editing

I used to be the kid that would read the newspaper every day during his commute to school and dream of being a storyteller. Now, I'm on the other side of that.

Front-End Web Development

Spending too much time redesigning my MySpace page was the beginning of a lifelong interest in making websites look great and readable.

Some examples: searching audio archives, scraping websites, requesting public records and reading court transcripts. I love getting answers to questions.

Multimedia Journalism

I'm proud to be a Swiss Army knife of digital media skills. Photography, audio production, community engagement tools and data visualizations all bring me joy.
